Buying a home is kind of a big deal. More often than not, people rush in to home ownership because it is very important to have that financial responsibility as an adult. But owning a home is a commitment that you might not be guaranteed a good investment, and it is truck load of work. ( I have seen too many homeowners that have had the property for only a couple of years and a list of repairs around the home. It is not always the creative paradise remodeling shows make it out to be). Home ownership is a long-term step, but you want to know what you are getting yourself in to.
If you are reading this, you are more than likely considering buying a house. That’s great, because I did it too! So here I have made of a simple list of first time buyers guide to get the best advice possible. Enjoy!
First Time Home Buyers 5 Step Guide
How To Buy a Home?
Know when it is the right time to buy a home?
Don’ts:
Don’t try to buy a home because everyone is doing it or because your uncle Ted told you that it is dumb to throw away money paying rent. Don’t try to buy a home because there is a buyer’s market and because of the low mortgage rates.
Do’s
Buy the home because you are going to settle down in a place to live for minimum five years. A big important factor that you need to consider is buying the home if you are 100% sure you are financially stable. If you know you are not making ends meet when it comes to renting an apartment, then buying a home is not an option.
Determine If You Can Afford the Home Or Not
For the most part, our home is the most expensive thing we will ever purchase. For most of us, we need a big loan to help us get that house. If you think back in time all those foreclosures that happen during recession, a mortgage is not something to be taken likely.
In order to get a new home, you will need good credit, you will also need to have a stable job, and a great chunk of cash. Navigating the waters of home financing isn’t always easy, but with the help of real estate agent Nouman by your side, the financial part of buying will be easy for you.
Start Shopping for your first home.
Take several days and go shopping for the best deal possible. Avoid creating a financial disaster by arranging your finances before you go out house hunting. In a fantasy world, you would commit to buying the house and get pre-approved on the spot at that first open house. This is not the case. Obviously, it may be that you did not realize you wanted to own a home until you saw your dream home.
Seal the Deal and Closings
As if finding the perfect home and getting a mortgage wasn’t enough, you will see that it is only half the battle of the home-buying process. Selling your home and closing costs.
